Alternate Tires for my Arrma Fury
Hello... please note that I'm a mom who just purchased 2 Arrma Furys for Christmas for my sons and I don't know much about RC cars! The cars came with the dBoots Sidewinder tires which have been great on the road, rocks and hard-packed sand. I am wondering if there are an interchangeable tires that I can purchase (i.e. the tires that the Raider uses) that will be better for deeper sand.
I am also wondering if any other brands of tires are compatible with the Fury... if so, what specifications would I be looking for, other than the 1/10 scale?
Thank you for joining the Go for it forum!
Those are some great christmas presents, well done, your boys must be very pleased one option for alternative wheels for your Furys are the wheels and tires for the ARRMA Mojave, these will be available in the US in February, if you can wait that long you can try these tires and wheels from proline -
These are premounted so require no gluing and are a correct offset. They are supplied in pairs so you will require 2 sets per car.
Hope this helps, let us know how your boys get on.
any rc rim with a 12mm hex is what you need to look for i am pretty sure it standard for most RC 10th scale
proline makes a tire/rim for the traxxas slash that fits
i think there called sand paws there a nice paddel tire for the sand you can also get smooth sand tires for the front
hope this helps
Absolutely right, the Fury's will take standard SC wheels with a 12mm hex drive that are in a HPI Blitz/Slash 4x4 offset.
Proline do make some extreme sandlepaddle/rib tyres to suit SC wheels but I recommended the premounts for a couple of reasons - firstly they are pre-glued, the other tires you would need to buy the wheels and tires seperately and then glue them yourself and secondly the sandpaddles are quite heavy and might be a bit much for the standard motor/servo. Great recommendation on the Proline tires. I looked them up on your recommendation and fell in love with them for my Fury. While the chrome looks nice, the black rim really makes the Fury look tough! I haven't gotten to try them for grip yet but that will be happening this weekend!
